Sino-Danish Regulatory Science Center joint meeting held at Fudan School of Pharmacy

In the morning of December 8, 2016, the first joint meeting of “Sino-Danish Regulatory Science Center” was held at School of Pharmacy, Fudan University, thereby signifying the formal inauguration of this international platform supported by Center for Drug Evaluation, China Food and Drug Administration, sponsored by Novo Nordisk A/S and jointly operated by Fudan University and University of Copenhagen.

Among the attendants were Professor Yonghao Gui (Vice President of Fudan University and Joint Chair of the Steering Group of Sino-Danish Regulatory Science Center), Dr. Ruyi He (Chief Scientist of Center for Drug Evaluation, China Food and Drug Administration), Professor Sven Frokjaer (Vice Dean, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen) and Professor Flemming Madsen (Head of Pharmacy Department, University of Copenhagen), Drs. Boerrge Diderichsen (Vice President, R&D Outreach) and Jens Heisterberg (Vice President, Regulatory Intelligence) of Novo Nordisk A/S, Dr. Baoping Wang (President of Novo Nordisk China R&D Center in Beijing), Drs. Ming-Wei Wang (Dean), Aijun Hou (Vice Dean) and Liming Shao (Director, Shanghai Drug Discovery and Development Center) from School of Pharmacy, Fudan University. Professor Yonghao Gui chaired the meeting. 

The meeting began with general introductions of Fudan School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at University of Copenhagen and Novo Nordisk A/S by Drs. Ming-Wei Wang, Sven Frokjaer and Boerge Diderichsen, respectively. Then, representatives of the three organizations discussed in detail about setting up comprehensive collaborations in regulatory science covering course sharing, faculty visits, student exchanges and academic research, etc. An agreement was reached relative to operational goals and implementing plans of the center in the next few years. The roles, responsibilities and candidates of the steering group, coordination committee and advisory board were suggested so did the date and venue of the next meeting.

Drs. Shufang Wang (Director of Registration) and Chao Sun (Strategic Project Development Manager) of Novo Nordisk China, Drs. Yan Li (Assistant Dean), Yuan Gao (Associate Professor), Lan Hong (Assistant Professor) and Ms. Lulu Zhai (Foreign Affairs Assistant) of Fudan School of Pharmacy, as well as Dr. Jack (Juncai) Xu (Senior Medical Advisor, Shanghai Clinical Research Center), attended the meeting by invitation.
